First general flag raising

On September 11, in the coliseum of the Los Cerros Gymnasium, the first general flag raising of the 2017 - 2018 school year took place. There, different recognition of students who have excelled in academics and athletics.

The academic ceremony was attended by parents, directors, teachers and students, who paid tribute to those students who stand out for their academic excellence. Also, the Director of Teaching, Mr. Raúl Pinzón, welcomed the students of the Transition class of 2031..

The following special awards were presented at the hoisting:

• The Los Cerros delegation, made up of 10 students, won the award for Best Delegation of Schools participating in the Model United Nations that took place from August 5 to 7 at the Universidad de La Sabana.
• Last July, during the recess period, students Juan Pablo Bonilla and José Gabriel Tovar, from the ninth grade, after passing the eliminatory tests of the Colombian Natural Sciences Olympics, were pre-selected to participate in the "International Science Olympics", an event that will take place in the Netherlands in November,
• Eleventh grade students Felipe Ruiz and Santiago Pérez qualified to the final round of the Physics Olympics, organized by the Antonio Nariño University.
• In the A.C.N. (Association of Colleges of the North) tournament, our volleyball and basketball teams achieved good results in the first semester of 2017: in volleyball, they reached first and third place in the senior and junior categories, respectively; while the senior basketball team was runner-up.
