After several years of professional practice, 31 deacons from 15 countries were ordained to the priesthood on May 5 in the Basilica of St. Eugene in Rome, among them was Alberto José Ospina, a graduate of the 2007 class.
The ceremony was attended by the Prelate of Opus Dei, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz, and Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, who was the consecrator.
It should be noted that Alberto José was an excellent student, obtaining different academic and professional achievements such as: best score in the International Baccalaureate exams of his class; Honorary Diploma in the Thirty-eighth International Physics Olympiad, held at the University of Isfahan, Iran, on July 13, 2007, with the participation of 75 countries; Master of Music, with emphasis in Piano Major, from the Fundación Universitaria Juan N. Corpas in Bogota. He later studied philosophy and theology at the University of the Holy Cross in Rome.
