Santiago Montes, a student from Los Cerros, won the bronze medal in the South American Table Tennis Tournament.

The Los Cerros student participated in the recent South American Children & Youth Championship 2017, which took place from March 18 to 22 in the city of Asuncion, Paraguay. There, Montes competed in the U-15 children's category, achieving bronze medal in individual.

The next competition for Santiago will be the Latin American Tournament to be held in Guatemala, which will grant quotas to participate in the World Table Tennis Championship to be played in the Asian continent next October.

Our champion and #1 racquet will be present in the next national competitions: April, in the municipality of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca; June, Cartagena; October, department of Cundinamarca; August, Bogotá; September, Villavicencio; November, Santa Marta, and December, Armenia.

It should be noted that Santiago will have to remain in the first two positions of the national ranking to be able to attend the World Championship to be played in the Republic of the Philippines.
