Los Cerros student champion of the South American Table Tennis Championship

Santiago Montes Solarte, from class 8B, represented Colombia in the last South American Table Tennis Championship, which took place in the city of Medellin from December 12 to 17, 2016. Santiago won the gold medal in men's singles, after defeating Peruvian Adolfo Cucho, and winning the final against Venezuelan Luis Vanegas.

Santiago was also crowned champion in mixed doubles. It should be noted that this championship is attended by the first and second of the ranking of each country. On this occasion, Santiago is the first Colombian to win this important intercollegiate championship.
