With an attendance of 1400 students from 26 IB schools in Colombia, on January 20, the Gimnasio de los Cerros, with the sponsorship of the Andean Association of IB Schools (AACBI) and the support of the Universidad de La Sabana, organized the 24th edition of the Monograph Fair.
This academic event, attended by tenth grade students from participating schools, aims to open spaces for conceptual and methodological training in the construction and writing of the monograph, a mandatory requirement for obtaining the IB Diploma.
On this occasion, the event organized by Gimnasio de Los Cerros, was attended by 1020 students from 18 schools in Bogota and Cundinamarca gathered at the campus of the Universidad de La Sabana, while, virtually, about 380 students from IB schools in the main cities of the country joined us. They all enjoyed an offer of 72 workshops in 20 subjects offered by the Diploma Program, taught by teachers who have extensive experience in the supervision of monographs in IB schools in Colombia.
As the main event, moderated by Luis Eduardo Rivas, Executive Director of AACBI, our special guest, Dr. Aldo Anzures, Director of IB Colleges for the Americas, presented the keynote lecture "Academic Integrity: the history of some references" in which he spoke about what is research, what is the profession of research as a profession and what is the importance of academic integrity.
It was an event of great academic quality and a valuable learning opportunity that will bring IB students from Gimnasio de Los Cerros and all AACBI schools in our country closer to the important goal of achieving their International Baccalaureate Diploma.
